"The friendliest liposuction resource online..."
micro liposuction doesn't mean that a tiny surgeon performs your procedure in a small room (smile)...
It really has more to do more with being "conservative" in delicate areas of the body.
The areas that are perfect for this type of surgery are the difficult or highly visible areas of say your face or ankles for example.
So without further ado... let's get into the meat of this topic.
In standard liposuction the surgeon will prep the patient for surgery after a careful assessment. Topographical body markings used during surgery are drawn at this point.
The same thing happens for micro lipo as well only the areas that are prepped are usually smaller, more delicate areas of the:
Micro liposuction works really well in the smaller delicate areas because the surgeon really needs to take fat out in small increments so that too much fat isn't removed. So, instead of using the large-sized "cannula" which is a long hollow tube attached to a suction apparatus the surgeon would select a finer, shorter one.
This gives surgeons a great deal of control over the fat-removal process.
Another key difference between standard and micro-liposuction is that the numbing solution (called "Klein's Solution" after its inventor) used for traditional liposuction is used in smaller quantities in the micro procedure.
During the standard- and micro-procedure this numbing solution is injected into the treatment area until the area is tightly filled with solution. This serves two purposes. One is to numb the area from pain so that the patient can remain comfortable during the surgery. The other is to soften the fat so that it moves out of the area with gentle suctioning.
The point here is that micro-liposuction is just liposuction with a slightly different focus.
This is a good question because micro-liposuction works well for areas of the body that standard liposuction would be overkill for.
From what we could tell in the research for this article is that the vast majority of patients are satisfied with what they are able to accomplish with a micro liposuction procedure. Reshaping the jaw-line or the neck contour does wonders for some patients and they are very pleased.
But remember even though the areas are smaller where micro-liposuction is applied this is still surgery with the potential for negative consequences. So, be sure to apply all due diligence when selecting your surgeon, and getting advisement for any surgical procedure.
Micro liposuction is really just a standard liposuction procedure...
What makes it different are the areas of the body the surgeon works on and the instrumentation that he or she uses to get the job done.
That doesn't mean that you are off the hook when it comes to choosing a quality surgeon. It still counts.
